Head Coach-Todd Frederick
Coach Frederick was hired as the boys head coach at Princeton in 1998 after coaching in the Bloomington Jefferson youth program for 6 years and the Princeton youth program in 1997 as a assistant coach for the Bantam team. Coach Frederick graduated from Bloomington Jefferson High School in 1990 where he played under Jeff Saterdahlen. While in high school, he played in one Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament for the Jaguars in 1989. He played with such players as Tony Bianchi, Chris Tucker and Dan Trebil. After high school, Todd went on to play Junior hockey in Washington for two years. Since becoming the head coach at Princeton, he has guided the Tigers to two Section 2A championships and two state tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003. He was also selected as Section 2A coach of the year in 2002 and guided the Tigers to Conference Championships in the 2001-2002, 2002-2003, and 2004-2005 seasons. Coach Frederick has had players advance on to the junior and college levels such as, Karl Larsen-Minnesota Blizzard (NAHL) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers (NCHA Div. III), John Stockler-Billings Bulls (NAHL) and the University of Connecticut Huskies (Atlantic Hockey Div. 1). Todd works as a police officer for the Princeton Police Department and he and his wife, Keri and dog, Hobey reside in Princeton.

 

Assistant Coach-Curt Wilson
Coach Wilson started as a volunteer with the high school boys program in 2004 and then became the assistant coach in 2005 where he works with the defensemen. He coached in the Princeton Youth Hockey Association for three years prior to joining the boys program. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1990 where he was a two time All-Conference player, Captain and St. Cloud Times All-Area hockey player as a senior. Curt went on to play two seasons (1990-1992) at the University of Minnesota-Crookston (MCHA Div. II) were he was selected to the All-American team (1992) as a sophomore defensemen and played one season for the NDSU Bison (1994) (ACHA Div. I) where he won the 1994 National Championship by defeating Eastern Michigan, Penn State and the University of Illinois. Curt also played one season of Junior A hockey for the Portage La Prairie Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in 1993. He then went into the US Navy “Seabees” and served in Iraq in 2003 during major combat operations of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Curt is employed by Qwest Communications in Minneapolis and he and his wife, Ann, reside in Zimmerman.

 

Assistant Coach-Jeff Hanson
Coach Hanson started coaching in the Princeton Youth Hockey Association before joining the Boys High School staff in 2006. Along with helping the JV team, he will also work with the forwards on the JV and Varsity squads. Jeff graduated from Princeton High School in 1999 where he played under Coach Frederick. Jeff earned the Alex Metcalf Award for Most Hustle for the Tigers in 1999. He went on to play Junior hockey for the Minnesota Ice Hawks and then played for the Bethel College Royals (MIAC Div. III) from 2000-2004. He received a degree in Elementary Education from Bethel College and is now a Middle School teacher in Princeton. He also works as a fishing guide in the summer on Mille-Lacs Lake. Jeff resides in Zimmerman.


 
Goalie Coach-Terry Mason
Coach Mason started with the Princeton High School program in 1996.  His main duty is working with the goalies on a daily basis.  He grew up and played for the Minnetonka Skippers and after high school he played for the College of St. Thomas.  In 1981 he began coaching in the Coon Rapids Youth Hockey Association.  In 1989 he started coaching in the Princeton Youth Hockey Program and in 1991 he was hired to work as a goaltender coach in the Mora program.  In 1991 and 1992, Coach Mason Co-Coached select hockey teams in Canadian Tournaments.  Coach Mason also received the Princeton High School Volunteer Coach of the year for the 2005-2006 season.  Terry is a Technical Consultant working for Medtronic for over 32 years.  Terry and his wife, Marsha, reside in Princeton and enjoy watching their grandson play hockey and their son coach hockey.
